'For every storm a rainbow, for every tear a smile'

Frequently asked questions

Why should I donate to the Foundation?
In a society accustomed to dealing with financial debt there is one debt that often goes unpaid. That is the social debt that each of us owe. Nobody could honestly claim to owe nothing in this life, to have never been helped in a time of great need. Whether that help came from a doctor, a charity, a friend or even a stranger, the world is a better place for acknowledging it and returning it in kind.

Who decides which charities will be supported by the Foundation?
The Paint A Rainbow Foundation will be governed by a Board of Directors chaired by Pat Sergi OAM. The Board establishes priorities for the distribution of funds to charities and individuals. Our inaugural ball benefited Mental Health, Lifeline Canberra, The Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick, Australian Red Cross and Dare:Ops.

What happens to the money from fundraising events?
A specified amount is contributed to the nominated charities and the remainder is invested to reach the Foundation’s target of $100 million. When this goal is reached 10 per cent will be distributed annually to the nominated charities.

Who decides where the money will be invested?
The Foundation will be advised by an investment committee comprised of experts in property, stocks and shares, and cash.

Why do you want to raise $100 million?
The target of $100 million means that the $1000 or $1 million you donate today is invested so that it grows and continues to help not just a few people but a few thousand, and not just today but in the future.

Is my donation tax deductible?
The Paint A Rainbow Foundations is a registered charity and donations are fully tax deductible.

I can’t make a financial contribution but can I help in other ways?
The Foundation’s work is carried out by volunteers and the more hands the lighter the load. Please call the Paint A Rainbow Foundation if you have the skills, time, energy and passion that you believe could make a difference.
