Brett Murray

Brett Murray is a man with an extraordinary passion to motivate, encourage, inspire and empower individuals to reach their potential and dare to live their dreams.

Building on his sporting achievements in surfing, lifesaving, swimming, rugby league and boxing, 10 years ago Brett established campDARE, now known as DARE:Ops, a group recognised as the number one youth motivation organisation in the country.

Brett has developed and regularly presents motivational sessions and seminars, designed to empower young people. He is the author of the book, I Dare Ya! And has also written, directed and produced an extreme sports surf movie, Firestorm.

His achievements are recognised by figures from both sides of politics and community and business leaders.

Brett is also a skilled promoter when it comes to spreading the word about DARE:Ops. He gained national television coverage when he took 10 boys from Punchbowl High across the Kokoda Track and was then offered his own TV series.

Subsequent adventures saw him lead a team of eight young men into the rugged and isolated Kimberley Region in WA, and a group of boys from Kempsey and Riverstone to Western Samoa.

In 2006 Brett established the DARE to make an IMPACT series of camps in collaboration with the NSW Police and was nominated for Australian of the Year for 2007
