GORGI QUILL

Gorgi Quill is the Melbourne reporter and travel presenter for the Today Show on the Nine Network. Gorgi Quill joined Today as a reporter/producer in 2004 after working as a news presenter and reporter at Channel 31 in Melbourne.

As Melbourne reporter, Gorgi has covered the 2006 Commonwealth Games, the Beaconsfield mine disaster, Private Jacob Kovco's repatriation, breaking news, entertainment and sport.

During her time at the Nine Network, Gorgi has been the Melbourne Reporter for National Nine News Early Edition in 2005 and worked as a reporter on the 6pm bulletin for National Nine News in Melbourne.

In addition to her reporting, Gorgi has a Bachelor of Science, majoring in pharmacology and zoology, and a Graduate Diploma in Secondary Education, specialising in VCE Biology and Science.

Prior to joining Nine, Gorgi worked at Channel 31 on the news and current affairs program C News in Melbourne, where she presented the news and worked as a reporter. In addition to her reporting and presenting skills, Gorgi is a classically trained singer and professional performer. Gorgi is renowned around Melbourne for her vocal range and stage presence.

Gorgi was in the original Australian cast for the smash hit Queen / Ben Elton musical 'We Will Rock You' where she was handpicked by 'Queen' band members Brian May and Roger Taylor to be understudy to the lead role 'OZ'. Gorgi performed in 'We Will Rock You' for the nine-month run in Melbourne at the Regent Theatre. Gorgi has also performed in the musical 'Carousel' starring David Campbell at the Arts Centre in Melbourne with the Production Company in 2004.

Gorgi recently starred in Channel 9’s CAROLS BY CANDLELIGHT and ABBAMANIA showcasing her unique versatility within her role at the Nine Network.

In addition to professional musical theatre, Gorgi has also performed at the 2003 AFL Grand Final, on the 2003 Footy Show's Grand Final Show and has appeared on Good Morning Australia with Bert Newton. She supported Split Enz on their 'ENZSO' tour at Rod Laver Arena in 1997.

Gorgi's versatility as a performer enables her to perform a wide range of styles due to her experience in musical theatre, rock and corporate work. Gorgi is in demand to regularly MC high profile events in Melbourne due to her ability to engage audiences.

Gorgi grew up in Warrnambool, Victoria on a farm. She is a former State level equestrian competitor in eventing and dressage.

Gorgi recently released her first solo album 'Edward', dedicated to her late grandfather, who inspired her love of singing and music. It was recorded live at Move Studios, and is distributed by Sound Vault records and is available at major stores.
