Rennie completed his education with a Diploma in Business at Phillips Institute in Melbourne in 1988.
Started his career working for UK insurer GRE Insurance Limited (Guardian Royal Exchange) in Melbourne for 5 years from 1988 to 1993 then joined RACV Insurance Limited for a brief tenure in 1993.
In 1993 he joined JMJ a fleet management company which was later acquired by GE Capital in 1994. His Role was that of National Insurance and Risk Manager for GE Capital Fleet Services. December 1998, Rennie resigned from his duties at GE Capital to commence his own businesses.
In 1999 Rennie founded 2 companies leveraging off his experience in both Fleet Management and Insurance. Alliance Insurance Broking Services commenced business in February 1999 and was accredited through the Australian Securities Commission as a registered broker. Rennie also holds industry qualifications of Qualified Practising Insurance Broker and Fellow.
He also founded Fast Track Australia Fleet Services in May 1999. Alliance has grown over the past 9 years into being a significant general insurance broker in the Australian market and Fast Track Australia Fleet Services is also well placed in the Fleet Management business. This diverse offering has worked exceptionally well for both businesses, as they share quite a number of clients.
In addition to his corporate activities, Rennie is a long standing committee member of the Royal Children’s Hospital, and the Murdoch’s Children’s Institute in Melbourne. This committee is a unique supporter focused on raising funds for Research at the Royal Children’s Hospital.
